Stagnant Water Bodies Pollution II

The IdRA of the University of Barcelona convened on October 2014, the Seminar “Stagnant Water Bodies Pollution II”. The Institute is organizing several times a year seminars on specific subjects related to water research which has not recently been dealt with in depth. Several Institute members and invited speakers present to an open audience the state-of-the-art of the selected subject.

Part of the presentations were prepared by the authors to be included in this book. As usually, the willingness of the Institute is to promote interdisciplinary work. With this aim chapters on the management of seasonal reservoirs in Sicily, dam removal in the USA, legal aspects of infrastructures, managed aquifer recharge and constructed wetlands and lagoons for water quality improvement in a river — both in Spain — and the relationships between water and energy in reversible dams are included in the book.
